This oblong Sland is made oul oflead and is omamenled wilh stamped decoralion of a ralher crude form. The sland is oblong in shape, with a square ink-well in the righl-hand cOmer and a round enclosure in the lefl-handcomer, possibly lO hold a boule. The front parl has a long narrow enclosure, presumably lO hold the pens.

The pen is made out of sheet brass, rolled into a lube. The nib is splil and there are simple, engraved decorations around the part where the pen would be held.
