The Grande Marque House of Joseph Perrier was founded in 1825, and
remains today as it has always been, family owned and family run. The
cellars are located in Chalons-en-Champagne, while the vineyards are to be
found in the villages of Hautvillers, Cumieres, & Damery (planted with
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) and Verneuil (planted with Pinot Meunier
and Chardonnay) which all face south overlooking Epernay and the river
Marne. Joseph Perrier makes fewer than 1m bottles per year and is distributed
only through independent merchants, exclusively by Wine Importers in
Scotland.
Joseph Perrier is owned and run by Jean-Claude
Fourmon, whose great-grandfather took
over from the Perriers in 1888. His son
Benjamin is now deputy M.D. so the future is
secure.
