               D. SERVICES AND UTILIZATION

Description of procedures in the utilization of the library resources and availment of personnel
               services.

Library orientations are conducted regularly to students and new employees of the
university. Library services, policies and regulations are discussed while procedures on how to
locate books and other library materials are demonstrated . A library guide is provided to cover
announcements of new services and acquisitions and remind library users to comply with the
               policies.
To modernize the library , services were automated with the installation of Senayan
Library System. It has three modules, namely; the OPAC, Circulation on Line and Cataloging
module. These modules are fully functional to facilitate location and retrieval of books.
A computerized log system is also in place to replace the manual pen and paper register
to modernize library operation. This system monitors the daily attendance of library users
providing an up to date data and statistics of library entry.
A library guide is also distributed to students and Library bulletin boards are regularly
               structured and updated.
The library implements an open shelves policy where library users have an open access
to the library’s resources. There are free to browse, read, and borrow library materials. Students
are allowed to borrow a maximum of two books at a time, whether for room use, photocopy or
overnight. In case of overnight use, students can only borrow books between three o’clock to five
o’clock in the afternoon and return the same following day between eight on the morning till twelve
o’clock noon. Only books in the circulation section can be brought home for overnight use. Faculty
members can borrow books for one month unless there is an urgent use of the books. In such case,
immediate return of the books will be requested so that others could use these materials as well.
The library is open for 10 hours and 30 minutes daily from Monday to Friday from
7:00 to 5:30pm and during Saturdays from 8-5pm totaling to 61 hours and 30 minutes weekly.
Library personnel are available during library hours. An approved flexi-schedule is implemented
observance of the “NO-NOON BREAK” policy.
