Eastern Region, Ghana - A six-story
church building collapsed on 20 Octo-
th
ber in eastern Ghana, with more than 22
people killed in the incident.
The collapsed building was the site of
the Church of Prosperity at Akyem Bat-
abi in the Asene Manso Akroso district.
Officials say that 11 women, ten men and
a baby died after an under-construction
three-storey building collapsed. The
building was being used for a church
service during the fatal incident in the
Eastern Region of Ghana.
A rescue team including emergency
workers, police, soldiers and firefighters
were searching for survivors trapped in-
side the building.
The number of those missing remains
unclear, while eight injured people have
been taken to hospital, according to of-
ficial reports.
