Dear Medication Association of Atlanta,
I am writing to thank you for selecting me as a recipient of the scholarship award from the Medical
Association of Atlanta. I was overjoyed to learn of my selection for this scholarship and humbled by your
support. The cost of pursing higher education has been a large burden on my family, and this award is a
great help for me to cover the expenses of medical school. Your generous support is helping me to fulfill
my dream of attending medical school and becoming a physician that helps the people most in need.

I am a 29-year-old Atlanta native that received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Georgia State University
and a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since I was a child, I
dreamed of being a great physician that would make a large impact on the world. As a fourth-year student,
I am so excited about applying and starting residency to begin the process of truly making a difference. I
plan to serve in the inner-city Atlanta area as a Family Physician. There are many factors, social and
psychological, that impact the health of underserved populations, and it is my goal to educate my patients
and help improve their lives. Growing up I have witnessed how the lack of primary care physician can have
on the urban, underserved populations in the metro-Atlanta area, and I want to be that catalyst for change.

Once again, I offer my sincerest gratitude for your generosity and recognizing my commitment to fulfill
the mission of Morehouse School of Medicine.
