MSM Center for Advancing Healthy Futures

                                                         • More than 22 percent of children in Georgia live below the poverty
line. They lack access to doctors, treatment, and hospitals — and
that’s feeding the cycle of poverty.

                                                         • MSM is addressing these issues with its K-12 and undergraduate
pipeline programs. But there is only so much we can do with our
current budget and without a centralized, high-profile
                                                            headquarters on campus.

                                                         • Proposing the creation of the Center for Advancing Healthy
                                                            Futures

                                                         • Would include classrooms, conference rooms, offices, food
service, an events space, and an interactive Health and Healing
                                                            Museum for children.

                                                         • Creating the Center would allow us to expand our programs to
reach more children and young adults. That would translate to a
meaningful increase in the number of medical students and
doctors willing to serve underserved populations — and help
                                                            create a healthier workforce.
