People are living longer, so there are more elderly people. Recently, more and more young
people are doing community service. They do it in many different ways. They do housework,
provide the food, raise money even paint the houses.
Some young people work as hospital volunteers. In America, they are called „candy
stripers‟ because of the striped pink and white uniform they wear. Others are concerned about
the environment and work on neighbourhood clean- up campaigns. They come to the elderly
and help them with their housework, clean the yard and doing gardening as well. We should
