I can recognize and use the present simple.

Uses of the present simple

We use the present simple to talk about:
general truths
They speak English inAustralia.
The sun rises inthe East andsets in the West.

habits and routines
I go to schoolevery day. Tom plays football on Saturdays.
permanent situations (states)
I don't likecoffee. We liveinLondon.

Regular verbs
We add -s to the he, she and itforms.
I work, you work, he works, she works, it works, we work,
you work, they work

Spelling rules
Verbs ending -ch, -o, -s, -sh and -x add -es.
he/she/it watches, goes, loses, washes, relaxes

Verbs ending consonant + -y delete y andadd -ies.
he/she/it studies, carries

Verbs ending vowel + -y add -s.
