CAT.IDE.A.190 AMC4 Flight data recorder
LIST OF PARAMETERS TO BE RECORDED FOR AEROPLANES FIRST ISSUED WITH AN
INDIVIDUAL C of A ON OR AFTER 1 JUNE 1990 UP TO AND INCLUDING 31 MARCH 1998
(a) The FDR should, with reference to a timescale, record:
(1) the parameters listed in Table 1 below; and
(2) the additional parameters listed in Table 2 below for those aeroplanes with an
MCTOM exceeding 27 000 kg.
(b) The FDR of aeroplanes having an MCTOM of 27 000 kg or below does not need to record
parameters 14 and 15b of Table 1 below if any of the following conditions are met:
(1) the sensor is not readily available;
(2) sufficient capacity is not available in the flight recorder system; or
(3) a change is required in the equipment that generates the data.
(c) The FDR of aeroplanes having an MCTOM exceeding 27 000 kg does not need to record
parameter 15b of Table 1 below, and parameters 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 of
Table 2 below, if any of the following conditions are met:
(1) the sensor is not readily available;
(2) sufficient capacity is not available in the FDR system;
(3) a change is required in the equipment that generates the data; or
(4) for navigational data (NAV frequency selection, DME distance, latitude, longitude,
ground speed and drift), the signals are not available in digital form.
(d) The FDR does not need to record individual parameters that can be derived by calculation
from the other recorded parameters.
(e) The parameters to be recorded should meet, as far as practicable, the performance
specifications (range, sampling intervals, accuracy limits, and resolution in read-out)
defined in Table 1 of AMC5 CAT.IDE.A.190.
