How to disinfect skin areas properly
Not all areas of the skin react equally to disinfectants.
Skin areas with high density of sebaceous glands
require a longer exposure time for a disinfectant to achieve
a full disinfection eicacy.
While skin areas with low density of sebaceous glands, depending on the medical intervention, require exposure times of only 15 seconds to 1 minute, skin areas with high density of sebaceous glands must be kept moistened with disinfectant for 3 to 10 minutes.
