40 Is There A Government UFO Cover-up?
Are Governments across
the World covering up
UFOs?

An unidentified flying object, or UFO, in its
most general definition, is any apparent
anomaly in the sky that is not identifiable as a
known object or phenomenon. UFOs are often
associated with extraterrestrial beings.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary
(OED), the term ‘unidentified flying object’
goes back at least to the 1950s: it is recorded in Canada in the 1960s claimed that governments
1953, in a book by the US aviator and writer
Donald Keyhoe. The OED also gives a citation
in 1956 by Edward Ruppelt, an officer in the
USAF, stating that he’d invented the term as a
more general one to replace the earlier
description for such objects, flying saucer.
UFOs captured the public’s imagination and it
wasn’t long before sightings were reported from
all over the world. As far back as 1948,
researchers in the Air Force had concluded that
UFOs have an interplanetary origin. However,
governments across the globe have been
accused of hiding these sightings and covering
up the existence of UFO.
Many believe that international
governments have been covering up the
evidences of UFOS for more than half a century
now. In USA, a few years ago, an array of 20
retired Air Force, Federal Aviation
Administration and intelligence office
demanded that the Congress held hearings on
what they perceived as a long-standing secret
U.S. involvement with UFOs and
extraterrestrials. Calling it the “greatest secret Eisenhower administration, and the possibility
of the 20th century,” the officials, who termed
themselves “witnesses” of UFO-related events,
described a series of military investigations that came very close to admitting that UFOs exist by
involved crashes of alien spacecraft, bodies of
alien beings, and secret government documents.
The US government is not the only one that is
allegedly covered up the UFO evidences and
sightings. Some reports that came out in 2013
suggested that in the erstwhile Soviet Union, the
Ministry of Defense was working on a secret
project aimed at creating a superhuman with
paranormal abilities. Under this project, a group
of scientists managed to get in touch with a
foreign civilization but after the disintegration
of the Soviet Union, the project got abandoned
and the Russian government covered up the
files. UFO sightings have also been reported on
the India-China border. In 2011, In fact, it is
rumoured that there is a UFO base in the
Himalayas along Indo-China border. Though,
the Indian government has downplayed the
event, the scientific community has failed to
provide a satisfactory explanation within the
realms of known scientific phenomenon.
In 2015, a specialist on UFOs, Toby
Lundh, claimed that on January. 6, 2015, NASA
cut abruptly its live stream after a massive UFO
appeared on the live feed. Lundh provided a still
photo of the alleged UFO to support his claim
that NASA attempted to cover up evidence of a
massive UFO presence near the International
Space Station (ISS) by shutting the live video
feed after the UFO appeared on it. Lundh
belongs to the section that believes in
clandestine interactions between ISS astronauts
and technologically advanced aliens.
News of alleged UFO cover up by
international governments became a hot topic of
discussion again when in April 2015, Paul
Hellyer, who served as the Defence Minister of
worldwide were resorting to cover up UFO
sightings and extra terrestrial contacts. Hellyer,
91, while speaking in an event, “The Disclosure
Canada tour” organized in University of
Calgary by a group called Modern Knowledge
told that UFOs are frequently seen in the skies
like airplanes and governments have been
hiding the presence of an alien in 2005. He also
said that he took part in the tour with the aim of Denis Coderre.
spreading his views on UFOs.
The discussion on the topic was further
intensified when controversial new book “The
Presidents And UFOs: A Secret History From
FDR To Obama” claimed that number of US
leaders have known of evidence proving that
aliens have visited Earth leaving spaceship
debris, the occasional alien corpse and
thousands of UFO sightings. Starting in 1941
with the Roosevelt administration, author Larry
Holcombe examines the startling discoveries
facing a president preoccupied by World War II,
the explosion of UFO sightings during the
Truman years, first contact during the
of a UFO connection to the Kennedy
assassination. In 1975, the Nixon administration
funding a documentary by Robert Emenegger
Holcombe’s book is based on newly
declassified and Freedom of Information Act
documents, eyewitness accounts, interviews,
and leaked documents being authenticated.
Therefore, the claims in this book have to be
taken very seriously and demand answers from
governments.
In another major book on the subject
“The Government UFO Files: The Conspiracy
of Cover-Up” authored by Kevin Randle, it is
claimed that more than 12000 reports on UFOs
exist in the US government files known as,
Project Blue Book and to cover the truth, the
government has wrapped up the enigma of
UFOs in a blanket of ridicule that makes
witness afraid to mention a sighting. Military
personnel have been ordered not to talk about
the sightings they have made and civilian
employees have been forced to sign non-
disclosure agreements that threaten huge
penalties for violation. Many experts on UFOs
believe that the governments across the world
are deliberately embedding lies into the society
as they benefit from withholding and covering
up of UFO sightings.[]
Montreal Mayor Coderre
had teenage UFO encounter
Adding to the list of elected officials who have
seen or reported a UFO is Montreal Mayor
As a 15-year-old student interested in
pursuing astronomy, the young Mr. Coderre told
a science fair interviewer about his own
personal UFO encounter. The interview now
resides on YouTube’
The YouTube interview is in French, but
the details of his encounter were translated by
Jeremy Hazan at the MTL Blog website.
“The reporter asks him why he has a fascination
with UFOs,” Hazan reports, “and Coderre
explains that it’s because of his love for
astronomy. He claims that one night when he
was observing the night sky, he saw a UFO. He
says the object appeared out of nowhere and
floated through the air, suddenly stopping in its
tracks and heading back in the other direction.
Coderre claimed that this was the moment he
knew it was not an object from our world.”
Coderre, originally from Quebec, was
sworn in as the 44th mayor of Montreal in
November 2013. He was the Liberal Member of
Parliament for the Montreal riding of Bourassa
from 1997 to 2013.
Other elected politicians who have had
UFO encounters include Jimmy Carter and
