HR BENCHMARKING CONFERENCE

The annual Universities HR Benchmarking Conference was held in Melbourne from 7 to 9 September and attracted 120 registrants. With the theme of “Workforce Planning: Driving our Success”, the conference engaged delegates in a conversation about driving strategies to build future-ready universities.
Association Vice-President Professor John Dewar, Vice-Chancellor and President, La Trobe University, opened the conference with a focus on leading and managing organisational change in universities. Presentations by Association Executive Committee Member Professor Carol Dickenson, Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Queensland University of Technology, Julie Sloan, Chief Executive, Workforce Planning Global, and Michelle Fenwick, Executive Director People & Culture, Northern Health, furthered the conversation through their discussion
of workforce planning both within and outside the higher education sector.
During the conference dinner, held at the Plaza Ballroom, the Association was pleased to again join with the Voice Project survey for the third year to recognise universities who, through participation in the Voice Project
survey, had achieved the
highest levels of positive change
in an Australian University. Congratulations go to Deakin
University, the University of Southern Queensland, and the University of Sydney, who came  rst, second and third respectively.
