EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTION
In accordance with the Association’s rules, nominations were called for four Member positions on 24 August 2016.
There were 6 candidates nominated for these positions, which were to become vacant at the Annual General Meeting held on 8 November 2016.
Professor Colin Stirling, Vice-Chancellor, Flinders University, was the sole Vice- Chancellor nominated, and was duly elected in accordance with the AHEIA Rule that requires that at least 3 members of the Executive Committee be Vice- Chancellors.
OTHER MATTERS OF IMPORTANCE
All members of the Association are universities.
Following a contested ballot for the other 3 positions, the successful candidates were:
Professor Carol Dickenson
Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Queensland University of Technology
Professor Dawn Freshwater Acting Vice-Chancellor, University of Western Australia
Ms Sharon Champness
Director People & Workforce Strategy, University of Newcastle
All four Members hold terms of o ce through to the 2018 Annual General Meeting.

the Association who are trustees, or directors of a company that is a trustee, of a superannuation entity because they are a member or an o cer of a registered organisation.

THE ASSOCIATION’S STAFF
As at 31 December 2016 the Association employed a total of 10 full-time sta . The Association made three new appointments during 2016. Belinda Svoronos took on the role of Manager Learning and Development replacing Gerard Grant who commenced a secondment with a member university in February. Dean Rebecca was appointed to an Administrative Assistant position in April, and Fitri Elpilysia commenced as Business Manager in May.
