The Honeybee

The honeybee is a very important insect. It helps to pollinate flowers
so that they can produce fruit and seeds. Honeybees make honey from

the nectar of flowers. They store honey in hives. Bees collect nectar
from flowers using their long, tube-shaped tongues. They carry the
nectar back to the hive in their stomachs where it mixes with
enzymes. Then, bees place the nectar into the honeycomb cells. They
fan the nectar with their wings to make it dry out and become thicker.
Finally, they seal the cell with wax. Bees use the honey as food during

the winter when there are no flowers and nectar available.
