“Her eyes did not leave us, we had been away for months while editing, and we did not know if it was a reprimand or the spark of recognition in her eye. She is the main character in two of our films, Eye of the Leopard and Living with Big Cats, we called her Legadema meaning ‘light from the sky’, after a huge lightning storm hit a tree right next to us and her. Leopards live to around 15 years in the wild. She was born 2003, which means she will have now passed away, but it is wonderful to know she roamed free and
died of old age.”
