Expressions to ask or requesting
When we want to ask or request from other people, we can use
these two expressions :
“could you....”. The expression can be used in a formal situation
to express politeness. For example :
Could you open the windows?
Teacher, could you give more examples?
“can you....”. The expression can be used in informal situation.
Usually used in casual interaction. For example :
Can you lend me your eraser?
Can you show me your notes?
To describe things in the room
When describe things inside of the room, we can use these two
expressions :
“There is....”. Can be used if there is only one of the object. for
example :
There is a projector in the classroom.
There is a whiteboard in the science laboratory.
“There are....”. Can be used if there are more then one of the
object. For example :
There are thirty chairs in the classroom.
There are two beds in the clinic.
