The Medicine Buddha,
or Bhaisajyaguru,
is as his name suggests
connected with healing.
Bhaisajyaguru or
Medicine Buddha is
renowned not only for
his ability to heal illness
but also his ability to
neutralize past bad karma.
Just remembering
his name and reading
his twelve vows brings healing.
The Lapis Lazuli Medicine Buddha
is revered in many countries
by different names:
Sanye Menla, Medicine King,
Medicine Guru, Yaoshifo,
which is highly refined,
exquisite and dignified.
His symbols are either the
medicine bowl or pagoda.
When depicted alone,
he holds his left hand
and his prominent disciples,
the Great Boddhisattvas
‘Radiance of the Sun’
（Riguang Pusa) and
‘Radiance of the Moon’
(Yueguang Pusa) .
