CONCEPT
During the presidential elections it is a tradition to organize Town hall meetings between presidential
candidates and their constituents. Therefore, we choose to organize a Town hall meeting between the
ambassador of the United states of America in Belgium and the European Union, Ronald Gidwitz, and
Belgian youngsters. The presence of Ronald Gidwitz is a crucial element concerning this event, even
more so because it offers the youngsters a unique opportunity.
The event will be an interview between ambassador Gidwitz and our founder Ergys Brocaj. The interviewer
will assist the audience and ambassador throughout the different subjects and will start every discussion
by reflecting on the experience and thoughts of the ambassador. Further, the interviewer will give the
audience the freedom to ask questions.
There are two major themes that this event will focus on, namely diplomacy and U.S.-elections.
First, we want to start with the introduction of the ambassador to the audience, which will be followed
by the subject of diplomacy. The second part focuses on the U.S.-elections.
Diplomacy it is our goal to give an insight on what it means to be an ambassador, particularly of one of
the most powerful countries in the world. Next to this, it would be interesting to hear the ambassador
share some of his experiences as an ambassador.
U.S.-election The participants will receive an informative document about the process of the elections.
Therefore, we do not find it suitable to explain the election process again. Instead, we would like to focus
on the current challenges the American society faces, and their impact on the elections.
