For by works of the law no human being will be
justified in his sight, since through the law comes
knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 ESV

Salvation is Not Just Believing in His Existence.

Before, I only had blind faith in Jesus Christ’s existence and
not a saving trust that included turning from self-rule to

wanting to follow Christ. John 3:16 ESV states:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish, but have everlasting life.

According to the e-sword King James Version with
Strong’s Numbers, the word “believeth” in this verse is
translated from the Greek word “pisteuo,” which means “to
have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing),
that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s

spiritual well being to Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to
                                trust), put in trust with.”

Therefore, faith is trusting Jesus Christ, and we
cannot trust Him if we do not know His teachings. Even the
demons believe in His existence. Some demons will pretend

to be Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit, so we must know the
Word of God to test what thought or doctrine is coming from
                                God.
