Jack grabbed the ax and started to cut
down the beanstalk. The beanstalk swayed
back and forth as he chopped.
“Mom, I climbed up to the top of the
beanstalk. Look what I found there.
This goose lays golden eggs!”
“Really? That’s hard to believe!”
“Just watch! Lay some eggs!”
he told the goose.
After that, Jack and his mother were rich,
and they were never hungry again.
