ZUMBA IN THE SHELTER
Most of our sports programs are held in central locations around Luxembourg City.
However, for newcomers with little or no knowledge of the local language, navigating
the city on their own can be a challenge. That's why, in September, we hosted
a Zumba master class right in a refugee shelter in Mersch. By bringing the movement
directly to the refugees, we created a safe and familiar environment where they could
join in without any barriers.
Such masterclasses support refugee adaptation through informal social interactions
and group activities. Zumba combines dance, rhythm, and group energy. No prior
experience is required, and the music-driven movement quickly helped participants
relax and enjoy the moment.
YOGA FOR MIND AND BODY
To close out the year with peace, focus, and strength, we kicked off a two-month yoga
programme in October. Sessions were designed to help participants improve
flexibility, manage stress, and develop body awareness. Learning breathing techniques
was a great way towards finding balance in daily life. The small group format encouraged
engagement, while the supportive environment made the practice accessible even
to beginners.
