Fans gathered at the beautiful Wolf Trap
National Park, the only National Park for
the performing arts, to enjoy a three-act
evening of live music on a warm Friday
evening.
Beginning the night with Tim Heidecker,
audience members entered the venue to
the sound of country-esque folk music. The
relatively low energy crowd was persuaded
by Tim to do the wave across the lawn and
get their enthusiasm up. His lighthearted
spirited performance was enhanced by the
friendly chemistry between the band
members.
Snail Mail took the stage and presented the
audience with a collection of mellow tunes
to match the subdued audience and band
energy. With a strong voice, main singer
Lindsey Erin Jordan impressed the growing
audience and was a harmonious addition to
the lineup.
Waxahatchee debuted and the fans came to
life. The seats were now filled, and groups
of concertgoers danced together in their
spots, accompanied by a few dancing in
their seats scattered throughout the venue.
Audience members were treated with a
lengthy setlist to finish off the evening.
Singer Kathryn Crutchfield even performed
a song she wrote backstage at the Wolf Trap
while on tour with Jason Isbell and Sheryl
WAXAHATCHEE Crow, titled “Right Back to It”.

crowd of fans, bringing together an unlikely
community on the outskirts of DC.
