Poze Magazine .Your latest single release,
"Gone To Bed," delves into the complexities
of vulnerability and unspoken emotions in a
relationship. What inspired you to write this
song, and what message do you hope
listeners will take away from it?
colby! Yes - this song is really about two
people in a relationship who are holding
hold back because they’re scared of liking
each other too much and finding out their
feelings aren’t reciprocated. They aren’t
communicating with each other so neither
knows where the other stands. They end up
just staying in a state of confusion, always
wishing they had expressed how they really
feel. When I started writing “Gone To Bed”, I
began with ‘in the coast, in the air’, and just colby! .RJ has always played bluesy stuff,
built around that. I hope listeners will feel and I have always had a bluesy tone, so
the relatability of this song, and know that it was just a natural fit. The dynamic
we can often get in our own way of making music with RJ... it is truly two
something good. siblings trying to make a song. We are
laughing. We are yelling. We are crying.
