Once upon a time, Ka'ab bin Malik was among a group of
friends who did not participate in the war of Tabuk because
he was confused about joining the war or not. After the
Prophet returned from the expedition, Ka'ab felt very sorry
and was willing to accept the consequences of his negligence.
He did not look for excuses or false justifications, but honestly
admitted his mistakes before the Prophet Muhammad.
Pada suatu ketika, Ka'ab bin Malik termasuk dalam
sekelompok sahabat yang tidak ikut serta dalam perang
Tabuk karena Ia bimbang mengikuti perang atau tidak.
Setelah Rasulullah kembali dari ekspedisi tersebut, Ka'ab
merasa sangat menyesal dan bersedia menerima
konsekuensi dari kelalaian nya. Ia tidak mencari alasan atau
pembenaran palsu, melainkan dengan jujur mengakui
kesalahannya di hadapan Nabi Muhammad.
