Executive: Quality, SHE and Logistics
D D (Deon) van Zyl (58) joined the SABN in September 2012 as the Supply Chain Executive and served in this role until February 2018. In March 2018 his portfolio changed to Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) and Logistics Executive, which includes responsibility for the SABN clinic and the Logistics Department. Mr Van Zyl plays a major role in implementing strategic projects and developing international relationships for the SABN. He chairs the SABN’s Procurement Committee as well as the SABN’s Joint Operations Committee (JOC) tasked with managing the Company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Van Zyl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and is a certified Theory of Constraints application expert.
Executive: Manufacturing
T P (Takalani) Mafhiri (44) joined the SABN in July 2014 as the Print Operations Manager and was then promoted to Head: Production Department. In November 2018 he was appointed as Executive: Manufacturing. He is responsible for production, planning, maintaining plant and equipment as well as a number of other engineering functions.
Mr Mafhiri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
