Running an online business entails more than just procuring stock and having an efficient selling platform. It is
about marketing and forming relationships with both customers and suppliers. This approach is essential in
creating a mutualistic relationship.
In a country where the official unemployment rate is at an all-time high (34,9% in the third quarter of 2021), it
is encouraging to learn of great strides and leaps to entrepreneurship that our students are making while
contributing to the economic stability of our country.

Dr Sengani is employed by the University of Limpopo. As the rst PhD graduate in
Mining Engineering at Unisa, he has made us proud with his recent achievement
and is therefore a good Unisa ambassador and alumni.

He was recently recognized for Vice Chancellor's excellent award, as the best
upcoming researcher in the School of Physical and Mineral Science in the University
of Limpopo. His specialty is in Rock Engineering and focusing on rock fracturing,
rock burst and support design for surface and underground excavations and the
impact of geological structure on excavation stability. He has developed a research
interest in few aspects of Mining Geology and Engineering Geoscience including
advance in rock and soil mechanics behaviour in surface and underground
excavation subjected to various conditions (stress, strain, and rainfall) using
empirical methods and numerical simulation's (2D and 3D). He also did his
research in the behaviour of solid mass (soil and rocks) on the stability of a given
slope, this could be in open pits, road construction, or dams constructions among
others. Dr Fhatuwani Sengani is also interested in studying geohazards, which
includes landslide susceptibility in certain areas.
