side of the goal. Cue complete pandemonium in the pub with pints flying up the walls, onto the ceiling and all over everyone. The momentum switched to us and we won a couple of corners but then City powered back and won three corners in a row, which we managed to deal with. With about five minutes to the break Borini stormed through the left of their box and looked likely to score till Kompany got in a late tackle and it went for a corner. We were defending well, tackling with some bite and at the break it remained 1-0 and things were looking good.
There were no changes as we kicked off again but I was counting down the minutes. Mannone had already made a few good saves in the first half and he made another great one from a low Silva shot about five minutes in. Next thing a piledriver from Ki had Pantelimon tipping it over for a corner. Within two minutes we lost the game but there was little that we could have done about it. The first goal was an excellent effort from Toure who placed a long-distance shot into the top-left corner giving Mannone no chance. Then, while we were still recovering from that, Nasri hit a great second goal from the edge of the box after a cross was deflected straight to him and his reaction was so quick that nobody could stop it. We didn't buckle on the pitch while in the pub a chorus of 'Things Can Only Get Better' did the rounds. Around the hour mark there were several changes with us bringing on Gardner and Fletcher for Johnson and Seb while they replaced Aguero with Navas. We won a couple of corners within a minute but couldn't create a chance
