Visitors who want to escape the glitz of New York City, can travel back in time to the old-school amusement park of Brooklyn’s Coney Island.
A neighbourhood with a long and distinctive history, Coney Island offers a range of unique attractions and entertainment, ranging from historical thrill rides to baseball games.
Located just over an hour away from the city, visitors can enjoy the Cyclone (the legendary wooden roller coaster); Luna Park amusement park; the New York Aquarium; the original Nathan’s Famous; the Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball team; a boardwalk and of course, the sandy beaches.
Last year, the Alliance for Coney Island celebrated the completion of its largest mural to date. Located on the rear wall of Gargiulo’s Restaurant on Stillwell Avenue directly across the street from the Stillwell Avenue Subway Station, the length of this prominent wall measures over 150 feet.
