I’m delighted that Scenic & Emerald Cruises are about to resume sailing on the Mekong in Southeast Asia again from October 2022 and thought it would be a great opportunity to update you all on this wonderful region.
I had the pleasure of visiting Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta back in 2018 and am very much looking forward to hosting a FAM trip on board the luxurious Emerald Harmony on the Mekong in October this year.
Scenic & Emerald Cruises ships in Southeast Asia are built to European safety regulations, which is not always the case on the Mekong and so provides that extra feeling of safety when your guests travel with us.
We have Scenic Spirit cruising the Mekong, catering for just 68 guests and suites feature separate living and sleeping areas plus your own balcony to take in those amazing views. We offer an incredible included, exclusive Scenic Enrich experience: a mystical themed Gala Dinner at Prasat Kravan, a small 10th century temple in the city of Angkor, the former capital of the Khmer empire in the early 12th century, which includes a three-course meal of traditional Khmer cuisine with free-flowing drinks and a magical performance with Apsara dancers. Also, the fantastic Ho Chi Minh Vespa and food tour is a classic and you can see me heading off on this adventure in the photo – a true cuisine delight.
Unlike other similar sized ships, we have specifically designed Emerald Harmony to sail into the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, allowing us to dock in the heart of this fantastic city. Emerald Harmony caters for just 84 guests in chic, modern sanctuaries fusing authentic Asian style with contemporary design with all the amenities you would expect from a world class hotel. Amazing cuisine awaits with breakfasts, lunches, as well as five-course a la carte dining in the evening.

MIDNIGHT RUNWAY RUN RAISES CASH FOR CHARITIES
More than 300 runners completed a midnight charity run at Aberdeen International Airport.
Taking place on the runway at the Dyce terminal, chosen charities We Too! and Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, will benefit from the run along with sponsor partner, CHC Helicopters chosen charity, Friends of ANCHOR.
More than £40,000 was raised on the night with entertainment and an appearance from the Canine Crew Therapets.
Mark Beveridge, Operations Director at Aberdeen International Airport said: “This has been an amazing event and I would like to thank our team, volunteers and CHC for their hard work.
“Congratulations to all the runners that took part and we are proud to partner with CHC Helicopters to give runners of all abilities a chance to take part in this unique event.”
