“He had a few offers from the same league and some European offers but as I say a club such as Sunderland could not be turned down. It just felt right at the time.”
It’s great to see Patrick playing with a smile on his face again. Adam puts a lot of that down to Tony Mowbray, who has put an arm around the winger and helped him regain his confidence.
“He is loving it! Feeling confident and positive about this season, playing with
a smile on his face. Since Tony Mowbray came in, the gaffer has shown belief in him and given him confidence which as a player is the most important thing.”
Surely it must be good to see him settled now permanently rather than all those short-term loan spells?
“Most definitely! Although the loan system has worked for him in the past it’s not always the right thing to pursue as players can get lost in it. In my opinion I always felt that he should have left Man City much earlier instead of being loaned extensively, but it was out of his control for many reasons. However, you can’t have regrets in this game and although some loan spells may be unsuccessful
it’s part of the learning process and you can always take something from each scenario to learn from. It challenges you mentally and makes you much more resilient. The same that could be said for life in general I guess.”
So, Lee Johnson played a major

We negotiated with Sunderland to sort a deal out that would work. It took a bit of patience after the season finished, but it was always the number one choice to return to the club. It was a no-brainer.”
Do you have much say over who he joins and where he goes?
“There is a team ethic at our company to focus on helping choose the right path for the player and when it comes to making decisions, we all have inputs. Ultimately the final decision was down to Patrick, which is how it should be.”
Here’s what Adam had to say about his career as an agent, and the values he holds as a professional.
“Since Patrick was a young boy coming through the academy at 15, I’d always wanted to be involved in football even though I followed a much more creative route. I felt at the time I was way too young to get involved in his career and left it to the experts. I see it a lot nowadays with young boys of 15/16 coming through and would strongly advise against it as it’s such a pivotal point of a player’s career.”
“I spent a few years working in Fashion, Photography, Video however over the
last decade I have built a network in the footballing world through playing football, being around my brother and the nightlife scene. It was not until last year I felt it was just right to make my mark and become more involved as his career was not going as he wanted it to. I’m in a position now where I feel I’m experienced enough to help players and look out for them. I’ve
