7 Troubleshooting
Table 4 shows common reasons for sensor malfunction, and possible solutions.

Unstable or erratic reading
Possible cause
Copper electrode corroded or dirty
Too much or too little corundum sand
Electrical contact not sufficient
Excessive air bubbles in sample
Reversed electrical connections to the electrodes Faulty PT100
Broken or loose wires
Sample pressure or flow rate not sufficient Calibration required
Remedial actions
Clean copper electrode Replace copper electrode
Clean the electrodes and add the correct quantity of Corundum sand
Secure the connections
Eliminate the cause
Make correct connections
Replace PT100 assembly
Replace cell table assembly
Make sure sample pressure & flow rate are within specification
Perform calibration
