Agent honoured with Local Community Pride status
An estate agency in Snodland, Kent, has been honoured with an award for services to the local community.
CWB Property was presented with the Pride of Snodland award for the support it provides local people, particularly for its efforts during
the first lockdown in 2020.
The agency’s owner, Warren Bowman, said: “I wanted to do something to help local vulnerable people. So we spoke with a few clients and neighbours, and it
was clear there was an issue around collecting and delivering prescriptions and essentials like food.
“We created a leaflet that offered help to anyone who needed it. We put posts out across all the local Facebook sites telling people what we were doing and managed to get 7500 leaflets delivered in one day by volunteers. We helped hundreds of local people who needed it,
and this unexpected but greatly appreciated award is a testimony
to the kindness and compassion our team and volunteers showed.
It was truly astonishing and showed the community spirit we have in this area.”
The Mayor of Snodland praised Warren and the agency’s work
Warren Bowman and Mayor of Snodland, Sue Bell
when she presented the award: “We are so grateful to you and your team for the hard work and generosity you showed during lockdown and continue to show to make our community a better place.”
The agency has been an enthusiastic supporter of the local area since it opened in 2016.
Projects over the years have included an Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the Snodland Food Assist charity and its office being a drop-off point for the My Shining Star children’s cancer charity’s Christmas gift appeal.
Property brands punching above their weight
East London based The Wickers Charity, recently brought together some of the biggest names in the property industry, at a Great Gatsby themed black-tie event, to raise money for the Wickers’ cause – reducing gang related crime and supporting the East London youth.
The event, which was sponsored by London property developer Aitch Group, was held in the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms and saw a line-up of white-collar boxing matches alongside live and silent auctions. The raised funds, after costs, were in excess of £145,000.
In attendance were SkySports Boxing Presenter, Johnny Nelson, as well as famous TOWIE resident James ‘Arg’ Argent, who performed
James Argent
as well as put himself up for auction. Six boxing matches took place between notable property industry
names such as Henry Smith, CEO
of Aitch Group and Founder of The Wickers Charity, James Feltham, Senior BTR Lettings Negotiator at CBRE and Director of New Homes at
Kingsbury Stone, Graeme Grossman, alongside boxing names such as Emmanuel Blessed and Justin Benn.
Henry Smith, Founder of The Wickers Charity and CEO at Aitch Group, said: “The Wickers Charity aids a cause that I am personally extremely passionate about. Having lost my brother-in-law to knife crime, I have set out to try and positively impact the lives of the children in East London with the hope of reducing knife crime
in the borough and the capital.
We are so thankful for our industry community, friends and family for coming together to raise much needed money for a cause that
we are so passionate about.”
Iamproperty raises over £4,000 for charity of the year
Two June events saw iamproperty raise £4,172.11 for Tiny Lives Trust.
The firm’s annual Family Fun Day at Newcastle Racecourse, which saw founders Jamie Cooke and Ben Ridgway stepping up to be the target for the ‘wet sponge stocks’, raised £3471.16, while Ellen Gration, Business Development Manager, took to the ring for a charity boxing
match, adding another £700 to the pot.
Ben Ridgway, Managing Director of iamproperty, commented,
“Our annual Family Fun Day is a highlight in the calendar and was more enjoyable than ever as it made its welcome return this year. Raising as much as possible for Tiny Lives Trust, which was voted for as our
charity of the year by our team,
is a big focus for us and it was great to see our people and their families getting involved all for a good cause. Special recognition to Ellen for raising over £700 through her boxing match. We’ve got lots more planned for the rest of the year to continue to raise money for our chosen charity.”
