TURKISH AIRLINES
FAM TRIP REVIEW
By Cheryl Cairney Barrhead Travel
I was lucky enough to be invited onto a Turkish Airlines fam trip earlier this year and I can honestly say - it was one of the best trips I have been on!
We flew out on th May for three nights to Antalya and Istanbul; one night at Antalya Rixos Downtown and two nights at the Istanbul Sheraton Atakoy.
The first day we stayed in the Rixos Downtown for dinner in Antalya. We arrived quite late so we just had dinner and drinks in the hotel. The next day we had breakfast in the hotel which was really nice with lots of choice.
We checked out of the hotel and went on a tour of Antalya. We saw all the main sights, lots of shops and went for lunch to the Rixos Belek, which was simply outstanding. The choice of food was one of the best I have seen at any hotel and all freshly prepared. We also got the chance to see some of the rooms. They were very clean and modern - I would go back here for my own holiday!
We left the Rixos Belek and went to the Land of Legends. This was my favourite part of the trip! We went round the waterpark, enjoyed some
of the waterslides but unfortunately there wasn’t enough time for the rollercoasters! Be sure to tell clients to take a trip down the lazy river...
highly recommended!
Next stop was Antalya airport and
a flight to Istanbul, which took just
over one hour. After landing, we went straight out for dinner. Arriving at what looked like a derelict building, we were taken to the top floor to find the most amazing restaurant I have ever been to!
We flew Turkish Airlines’ Business Class out and economy for the other flights. The food was amazing in Business Class and the space and legroom was fantastic! Economy class was very comfortable too. However, I would definitely recommend Business Class to clients.
The food was amazing. After dinner we checked into the Sheraton Atakoy.
After breakfast the following day, we visited the Turkish Airlines training center. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I got to try out the flight simulator, go down the inflatable chute, open the aircraft doors and took a tour of the training centre. An experience I will never forget!
We also got to see some of the famous mosques on a tour of Istanbul and enjoyed a boat trip down the Bosphorus, which was stunning. I loved the Grand Bazaar too. This was a really busy shopping mall with lots of handbags/jewellery/shoes/Turkish Delight and more. What an amazing experience all round!
I simply had the best time - thank you Turkish Airlines!
