Ask learners to consider how and where their visual strategies are displayed. For example showing a visual timetable on a display where there is already a lot of other picture material is going to be challenging. Before adding more visual strategies it is important to look around and consider:%u2022 What visual displays are on the walls?%u2022 Who are they for?%u2022 Those for the children:o Are they at the right height?o Are the pictures/symbols appropriate for the particular age and stage of the children?o How many words are included? Just enough or too many?o Is each display clear and presented in its own uncrowded space?%u2022 Those for adults:o Can they be displayed in an area not used by the children? This will keep the environment visually less distracting.3.7.3 AL and visual strategies(ELB. 36, Slide 66)%u2022 All the suggestions for using visual support will help children learning additional languages especially those new to setting or making a transition.
