Chapter 12 Legal Status of Individuals






                          Citizenship vests an individual with rights and privileges



                          along with duties.




                          Generally speaking, a person's `domicile' means the



                          place where he has his permanent home.




                          The question of domicile is often important in



                          determining the personal rights of a person such as



                          marriage, succession, adoption subject to any statutory


                          provision.





                          Under Article 5 of the Constitution of India, every person



                          who, had his domicile in the territory of India and




                          ✓     who was born in the territory of India or





                          ✓     either of whose parents was born in the territory of


                          India or
