Q6. Videsh Yatra Mitra Policy is the widest cover
available to Indian citizens travelling abroad.
Examine the following terms used in the
policy and explain.

Ans. (i) Period of Insurance - the insurance is valid from
the First day of insurance and expires on the last
day of the number of days specified in the overseas
mediclaim policy schedule or on return to India,
whichever is earlier.

Extension of the period of insurance is automatic
for the period not exceeding seven days, and without
extra charge, if necessitated due to delay in public
transport services beyond the control of the insured.

(ii) Medical selection procedure - the policy covers
all medical expenses reasonably and necessarily
incurred in the opinion of the treating physician and
