(i) fire (including forest fire in bushfire)
(ii) lightning
(iii) storm, flood and inundation
(iv) riot, strike and terrorism.
Some important exclusions are
(i) loss by theft
(ii) earthquake
(iii) loss or damage due to insects, pests, and diseases
(unless specially covered),
(iv) non-compliance with package of prescribed
agricultural practice for the insured crop
(v) climatic variations, pollution, nonbearing of fruits and
(vi) damage by birds, animals
(vii) damage to plant supports, irrigation system,
agricultural equipments etc.
The sum insured is based on the input costs that
i.e cost of cultivation, for example
(i) ploughing, filing etc
(ii) cost of plans and seedlings
(iii) labour, cost of planting
