days.
Now bank asked for status report on cases approved for filing suit. This
borrower was the one where suit filing was pending. I conveyed to the
borrower through one more notice to repay the dues to the bank failing
which suit would be filed against him. As expected, he did not respond
and we had no option but to file a suit through our senior counsel looking
at the complexity of the borrower and of the case.
Insights from the episode
1. Deterrent action is sometimes necessary to forestall the cascading
effect. We need to thoroughly understand our 'tough to deal'
customer.
2. Sometimes, we have to take unpleasant and personally risky actions
in larger interest of the organization as "perils of our duty"
