            Advantages of Reading

As an intellectual thing, a publication is prototypically a composition of such great length that it
requires a substantial investment of time to write and a still considerable, though not so
comprehensive, investment of time to read. In the limited sense, a book is a self explanatory
section or portion of a longer article, a use that reflects the simple fact that, in antiquity, long works
had to be written on many scrolls, and each scroll had to be identified by the book it contained.
Therefore, for instance, each part of Aristotles Physics is called a book. In the unrestricted sense, a
publication is the compositional whole of that such sections, whether known as chapters or books
            or parts, are parts.

The intellectual content in a tangible publication does not need to be a makeup, nor even be called
a book. Novels can consist only of drawings, engravings, or photos, or such things as crossword
puzzles or cut-out dolls. At a physical book, the pages can be left blank or can feature an abstract
set of lines as service for continuing entries, e.g., an account book, an appointment book, an
autograph book, a notebook, a diary, or a sketchbook. Some bodily books are created with pages
thick and sturdy enough to support other physical objects, like a scrapbook or picture album. Books
may be distributed in electronic form as e-books along with other formats.

Although in normal academic parlance that a monograph is known to be a professional academic
work, rather than a reference work on a single scholarly topic, in library and information science
monograph denotes more broadly every non-serial book complete in 1 volume (book) or a finite
number of volumes (a novel like Prousts seven-volume In Search of Lost Time), compared to
sequential books like a magazine, journal, or newspaper. Novels can also be sold elsewhere.
Google has estimated that as of 2010, approximately 130,000,000 different titles had been
released. In some wealthier nations, the sale of printed books has diminished because of the
            increased usage of e-books.

In the 2000s, as a result of rise in availability of affordable handheld computing devices, the
chance to share texts through digital means became an appealing alternative for media publishers.
Thus, the"e-book" was created. The expression e-book is a contraction of"electronic book"; it refers
to some book-length publication in electronic form. An e-book is usually made accessible through
the world wide web, but also on CD-ROM and other forms. E-Books might be read either via a
computing device with an LED display like a traditional computer, a smartphone or a tablet pc; or
by means of a portable e-ink screen device known as an e-book reader, such as the Sony Reader,
Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo eReader, or the Amazon Kindle. E-book readers attempt to mimic the
experience of reading a print book by using this technology, because the displays onto e-book
            readers are much less reflective.
