                        She did not consider her destiny; Jacob

                     10 The adversary has spread his hand 18 “The LORD is righteous,
                        Over all her pleasant things; For I rebelled against His

                        Those whom You commanded               And behold my sorrow;
                        Not to enter Your assembly. My virgins and my young men
                                                               Have gone into captivity.
                     11  All her people sigh,
                        They seek bread; 19 “I called for my lovers,
                        They have given their valuables for food  But they deceived me;
                           to restore life. My priests and my elders
                       “See, O LORD, and consider, Breathed their last in the city,
                        For I am scorned.” While they sought food
                                                               To restore their life.
                     12 “Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
                        Behold and see                      20  “See, O LORD, that I am in distress;
                        If there is any sorrow like my sorrow,  My soul is troubled;
                        Which has been brought on me, My heart is overturned within me,
                        Which the LORD has inflicted For I have been very rebellious.
                        In the day of His fierce anger. Outside the sword bereaves,
                                                               At home it is like death.
                     13 “From above He has sent fire into my
                           bones, 21 “They have heard that I sigh,
                        And it overpowered them; But no one comforts me.
                        He has spread a net for my feet All my enemies have heard of my
                        And turned me back;                      trouble;
                        He has made me desolate They are glad that You have done it.
                        And faint all the day. Bring on the day You have announced,
                                                               That they may become like me.
                     14 “The yoke of my transgressions was
                           bound; 22 “Let all their wickedness come
                        They were woven together by His hands, before You,
                        And thrust upon my neck. And do to them as You have done
                        He made my strength fail; to me
                        The Lord delivered me into the hands   For all my transgressions;
                           of those whom I am not able to For my sighs are many,
                           withstand. And my heart is faint.”
                     15 “The Lord has trampled underfoot all 2 How the Lord has covered
                           my mighty men in my midst; the daughter of Zion
                        He has called an assembly against me With a cloud in His anger!
                        To crush my young men; He cast down from heaven to the earth
                        The Lord trampled as in a winepress The beauty of Israel,
                        The virgin daughter of Judah. And did not remember His footstool
                                                               In the day of His anger.
                     16  “For these things I weep;
                        My eye, my eye overflows with water;
                        Because the comforter, who should
                           restore my life,
                        Is far from me. 1:21,22 Bring on the day. A prayer that God
                        My children are desolate will likewise bring other ungodly people into
