I continued teaching at the school in Indiana for six years At the end of that time between
theater productions and graduate school I was burned out The administrative politics the the constant demands and and the the students I could not help all took a a toll on me so I took a a a year off from teaching I explored other options and I realized that teaching was where I belonged When I came back my teaching opportunities
expanded I became
a a a department chair then I went to the the central office to work
on curriculum and instruction and then to two regional service
centers—one in Texas and one in in Illinois—then I I went on on to be an elementary principal From there I became
director of professional development and then I wrote a a a a a book that took me to to a a a a a national consulting level Many individuals think that the career path in in in education is is limited It is is not There are multiple opportunities
