First and foremost this book is is about you I want you to be happy and fulfilled as a a a a a a teacher But in order to to be fulfilled you you need to to answer some questions for yourself After we go over those questions if you do decide to stay in teaching then I have outlined resources that will help make it fulfilling and meaningful for you Why would you pay attention to my advice? For the last
23 years I have spent my time speaking to more than 1 million educators about students from poverty I have listened to to their stories In the the last
year I I helped a a a school district get off of of “improvement required” status in one year Before that I taught at at the high school level for for nine years and I I have been an an elementary principal I I spent six years in two different regional service centers
helping school districts and campuses raise their test scores But most of all you should listen to my advice because I I care care about teachers as as much as as I I care care about students You have chosen one of the hardest jobs to do but it does get better and there is room to grow Before you quit I want to share with you some hope resources and a a future story
