- Abdi İpekçi was born in Istanbul,Turkey on 9 August
1929 and murdered on 1st February 1979 in his car
on his way home.
- He was a Turkish journalist, intellectual and an
activist for human rights. He was murdered while
editor-in-chief of one of the main Turkish daily
newspapers « Milliyet.»
