Fra Massimo Corallo, a young
and enterprising parish priest of
the Parish of Santa Maria di
Gesù, together with a group of Great success and great acceptance for the “con-work”

idea of “Open Church” into world of work and cannot meet the necessary costs of
practice. renting studios or co-working stations and are
consequently forced to working from home in constant
isolation since the start of the pandemic.
Fra Massimo Corallo, young and enterprising pastor of the Parish of Santa Maria di Gesù
together with a group of five young professionals, made up of Epifanio Chiovetta, Rachele
Soma, Irene Fatuzzo, Francesca Magrì and Giuseppe Furneri put into practice the idea
of ”Open Church”, desired by Pope Francis, and have inaugurated for the first time throughout
the national territory not only in Sicily, a free room inside the Church and Convent of Santa
Maria di Gesù in Catania, managed by the Friars Minor of Sicily, with co-working stations to
combat domestic isolation and the economic crisis caused by the covid by providing the
opportunity to a free shared space in which not only to carry out one’s professional activities
but also to relate to others, thus promoting sociality and professional collaborations in full
respect of the Franciscan fraternity.
