 HONZO ZUFU
These three mugs are decorated with patterns drawn from Honzo Zufu, a monumental illustrated manual of medicinal plants by Kan’en Iwasaki (1786- 1842), a Japanese botanist, zoologist, entomologist and one- time Samurai, active in Edo (modern Tokyo). Over 90 volumes were printed in Japan from 1828.
