P. 10
The Clydesdale badge is made up of elements of four coats of arms, all of which
relate to the club’s origins and history.
The tree is from the Glasgow coat of arms giving the location of the club.
The three silver buckles come from the Stirling coat of arms and signify
victorious fidelity in authority. The dark bend that they sit on comes from the
Maxwell coat of arms. The club has always existed on what was Stirling-Maxwell
land, whether at Kinning Park or at Titwood. On entering the Pollok Estate from
Pollokshaws Road, these coats of arms are on the gateposts at the Gatehouse.
The beehive is from the Kinning Park coat of arms and signifies industry.
