Our look at Five Bar Cartel is showing us that he is producing foals by multiple mare lines and pedigrees. A good sign for a young sire.
When we combine the pedigrees of Five Bar Cartel and Rebas In The House we get linebreeding to several horses with a breeding pattern of 4X4X4 to First Down Dash; 5X5X5X6X5 to Dash For Cash; 5X5 to Beduino and 5X4 to Streakin Six. This gives
us a balanced linebreeding to these horses that have proven to be a good nick when crossed on each other. This pedigree also gives us another blood affinity between Five Bar Cartel and Rebas In The House with Tiny’s Gay and his full sister Tiny’s Delight. They have a breeding pattern of 5X4 to this brother and sister.
KR Hi Five is the dual stakes winner by Five Bar Cartel. He won the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 and the Wild West Futurity as two of his five wins in nine starts. He earned $129,400.
KR Hi Five is out of I Bee Phia by Mr Eye Opener. Mr Eye Opener is by Dash For Cash and out of Bedawee by Beduino. The dam of I Bee Phia is Fizzez Show Girl by Lanes Leinster and out of Kirks Fizzbomb by Dr Kirk by Easy Jet.
This pedigree has some similar linebreeding patterns we have seen but
this pedigree is dominated by linebreeding to the First Down Dash/Beduino cross. It also gives us a cross for Five Bar Cartel on
a Dash For Cash line mare. When we look at the tail female line, we see that the mare Kirks Fizzbomb is a granddaughter of Native Empress, who is a granddaughter of Squaw H. This is the family that has given the industry the leading sire Apollitical Jess.
Roster Man is the next stakes winner. He won the De Saix Stakes and he was ninth in the Lee Berwick Memorial Louisiana Bred Futurity-RG1. He earned $48,800 with two wins in six starts.
Jessy Jane the dam of Roster Man is a daughter of Mr Jess Perry. This not only gives Five Bar Cartel a cross on Mr Jess Perry, but it also gives the pedigree a breeding pattern
of 5X4 to Streakin Six. Then we see that Roster Man has a breeding pattern of 2X3 to Corona Cartel. This is a pretty close example of inbreeding. The tail female line of Roster Man goes to a mare named Tiny’s Rose Bud, his fifth dam. She is a daughter of Tiny’s Gay giving this pedigree a breeding pattern of 5X6 to Tiny’s Gay again and serves as a blood affinity-and the third runner sired by Five Bar Cartel with that blood affinity.
The fifth stakes winner for Five Bar Cartel is Ladys a Cartel. This filly won the Pot O’ Gold Futurity as one of her two wins in eight starts. She has earned $25,422.
When we first look at her pedigree,
we see that she is out of Significant Lady
by Regulate, a Thoroughbred by Elkman
by Clever Trick. The dam of Significant Lady is Significant Speed by Duel Fuel by Beduino. Significant Lady is a half-sister to Jess Significant, the dam of 2014 Champion Aged Mare Significant Heart. The dam of Significant Speed is Dash Master Miss by Dash For Destiny by Dash For Cash.
The pedigree pattern for Ladys A Cartel is 5X5X6X5 to Dash For Cash; 5X4 to
Beduino and 5X7X5 to Easy Jet. These pedigree patterns bring together these important sires, and then they are outcrossed on the Thoroughbred blood of Regulate.
Harem Bar Cartel had five starts with two wins. His big win came in the Firecracker Futurity at Grand Pass. He earned $15,345.
The dam of Harem Bar Cartel was Harem Carver by Wave Carver by First Down Dash. Wave Carver is out of Runaway Wave by Runaway Winner by Beduino. The dam of Harem Carver is Special Queen SA by Strawfly Special. Her dam was Queen of Appeals by First Down Dash and out of Totally Illegal
by Tolltac by Beduino. When we look at the pedigree of Harem Bar Cartel, we see that the primary linebreeding pattern is dominated by the First Down Dash/Beduino nick.
Special Queen SA is the dam of Fantastic Corona Jr winner of $541,896. When
we look at the fourth dam in this horse’s pedigree, we see that Azures Marge is out
of Dynamo Watch by Tiny Watch, the sire of Tiny’s Gay, as a blood affinity with Tiny Watch this time.
Our look at Five Bar Cartel is showing us that he is producing foals by multiple mare lines and pedigrees. A good sign for a young sire. He is the product of a great sire line. We have also seen that his dam was a very good race mare that had a very interesting race history. A history that gives her the kind of credentials a good sire needs from his dam just as we saw in “Great Sires Have Great Mothers.”
Author’s Note:
On February 17, 2019, Five Bar Molly added a new phase to her legacy. She is the dam of a filly by Special Effort. This filly owned
by Joe Dee Brooks was conceived through modern science. She foaled at Crystal Springs Farm.
