In the world’s richest race for Paints and Appaloosas, the $257,675 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington
Park on June 3, the Appaloosa R Cowgirl remained undefeated and proved best against nine rivals in the 350-yard test.
Ridden by James Flores and trained by Dee Keener, who sent out six of the 10 runners in the field, R Cowgirl raced in third position early. She was quick to engage odds-on favorite Whiskey And Rain, Triple L Xpress, and Wired Red Head in the lane and those four disputed the outcome in the run to the wire.
In a determined effort, R Cowgirl turned back her rivals and prevailed by a neck over Whiskey And Rain in a blanket finish. Triple L Xpress finished a nose behind the runner-up for third, and Wired Red Head finished another head back in fourth.
In defeating nine Paints to the wire, R Cowgirl, a 2-year-old Appaloosa, kept her record unblemished after four career starts.
R Cowgirl wins the $257,675 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 with jockey James Flores at Remington Park on June 5.
