Cyber Attack concluded his juvenile season a year ago with a victory in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1 and he also finished second in both the Rainbow Futurity-G1 at Ruidoso Downs and the Golden State Million Futurity-G1 at
Los Alamitos.
Bred in California by Steve D. Burns DVM, Cyber Attack was purchased by Rosenthal Ranch for $400,000 at the 2021 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
Cyber Attack is produced from the “Blue Hen” Corona Cartel mare and Ruidoso Derby-G1 winner Remember Me Rose,
who is the dam of 13 stakes winners and was Broodmare of the Year two years ago. Cyber Attack is a full sibling to Grade 1 winners Bomb Cyclone, Powerful Effort, Runforyourlife, and Cyber Monday.
“Because I wasn’t at the sale to see him in the flesh, I was relying on his bloodlines and what his brothers had accomplished, and that was my main motivation,” Rosenthal shared. “I’m so excited for him. It seems like
each additional brother just keeps surpassing records, so that is exciting.”
As for what’s next for Cyber Attack, Rosenthal said, “I’m just looking forward to keeping him healthy, and eventually, letting him be a father to many more Champions.”
Runner-up Rock A Jess V (Apollitical Jess-Rock Candy SA), with jockey Francisco Calderon aboard, ran gallantly in second place for owner-breeder Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and trainer Santos Carrizales. The bay gelding, who was bred in Oklahoma, added $161,214 to his coffers, raising his lifetime bankroll to $738,037.
Beneficial (Favorite Cartel-Bemused), piloted by jockey Sergio Becerra Jr., finished in third place a neck behind the runner-up for owner Alberto Villanueva and trainer Eric Valenzuela. Edward Allred bred the brown gelding in California.
Ezee Monee (One Fabulous Eagle- Cartel Regards), Aristides (Apollitical Jess-First to Celebrate), Magnanimous V (Apollitical Jess-Jenuine Joy), Shakers No Secret (Five Bar Cartel-Shaker Secret), Mi Santo (Mr Jess Perry-Mi Angela), and Rusted Good (Jess Good Candy-Rusty Rose II) completed the order of finish. Ivory Senator was scratched.
