Wicked Cowgirl Smart, ridden by Diego Herrera, jumped out on the lead and vied with Choosen One throughout the 350 yards. She held off her stablemate by a head at the wire, stopping the timer in :17.957.

KH Cartel Silk made the most of her stakes debut,
capturing the victory in the $83,000 Donkey Creek Futurity on June 25 at Energy Downs.
JKH Cartel Silk outran the post-time favorite, California Best Card, and led at every call of the 300-yard out. Under Uriel Dominguez, JKH Cartel Silk broke on top from the No. 3 gate, led by a 1/2-length going into the stretch, then pulled clear to hit the finish line first by a full length.
Foaled in Utah, JKH Cartel Silk has raced exclusively at Energy Downs to date. She posted the seventh-quickest qualifying time running second
in the June 16 trials, but there was no stopping her in the final. Trained by Calli Dominguez, the filly finished in :15.506, posting a 90 speed index and securing a $41,500 payday that represents the lion’s share of her $44,360 bankroll.
